The first "Casual Elegance" acoustic soirée is scheduled on Sunday, March 23rd from 5-8 p.m. with guest musician, David J. Carpenter. I wanted to have a small concert series limited to ten guests where I can mix my culinary interests and food sharing passion with music. I hope that this is something a little different and you will come prepared to try some food to enjoy along with the music. I have had a passion for mostly vegetarian cooking for a long time. I enjoy creating my own dishes and sharing them! Half the proceeds of this event go to the artist and half to the menu for the evening. Hope you enjoy! The food: I release the menu for the concert so you can look it over and decide if it's for you or not. Please also come for the food along with the music. I use 95% organic ingredients in my cooking and make everything from scratch. Occasionally, I use my favorite condiments and spice blends in some dishes which I can share with you....Menu is subject to slight changes based on availability closer to the event---Cynthia Brando The evening: 5-5:30-Beverages, appetizer plate and pre show hang. 5:30ish: Opening set with Cynthia and Ed 5:50: 25 minute set with David Carpenter 6:15-6:45ish: Small dish offering/hang 6:45-7:10: 25 min. closing set with David Carpenter 7:10: Dessert and hang The Menu: Starter offering: Appetizer plate with an assortment of cheeses, Italian bread/Persian cucumber, lime and olive salad Main offering: Navy bean light spring stew with homemade broth and fresh veggies-topped with a sherry braised fennel/Italian bread Dessert: Buttered sautéed dried and fresh fruit in a fruit soup purée topped with cream Beverages: An assortment of beverages
About the artist: David J. Carpenter For over 3 decades DAVID J CARPENTER has toured the world, played on records and written for/with artists ranging from Roger Hodgson (Supertramp) to John Doe (X). JC Chasez (*NSYNC) to Dave Alvin (The Blasters), Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus, Mark McGrath, Toni Childs to Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Peter Case (The Plimsouls) and Jill Sobule. He has appeared and/or played on many film and television productions including Ocean’s 8, 50 First Dates, The Gilmore Girls and The Tonight Show. He’s also a producer for several up and coming artists including Allison August and Nancy Sanchez. These accumulative experiences bring David to release his debut CD-BE AS IT MAY, a self-produced record of original songs and the companion EP, THE LOST COMPANION. Many artists have eagerly and whole-heartedly contributed to the making of this record. Their influence, support and encouragement are the driving force behind David’s decision to release his first solo record as a singer/songwriter.
